Principal's Message

Dear Don Stowell Families,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! It is with great joy and excitement that I welcome you all! Whether you are new to Don Stowell or have been part of our community for years, we are so glad to have you with us.
Last year marked a special milestone for our school as we launched our Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program with two Kindergarten classrooms which now has expanded to 1st Grade. We are thrilled to have the DLI Program here to offer students the opportunity to become bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural. The DLI program represents our commitment to providing innovative, enriching, and inclusive educational experiences for all learners.
At Don Stowell Elementary, we believe that strong relationships between school, home, and community are the foundation of student success. Our dedicated staff is committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and academically engaging environment where every child can thrive.
This year, our heart and focus will be on three big goals:
● Literacy: Building strong, confident readers, writers, and communicators from day one.
● Family Involvement: Partnering closely with you every step of the way.
● Safety & Relationships: Creating a safe, loving space where every child feels known and valued.
Living the S.T.A.R.S. way:
We guide our days using the Stowell S.T.A.R.S.: Safety, Timely, Attentive, Respect and Supportive. These simple values help us foster kindness, empathy, and joy both inside and outside the classroom. Together, we’re not just learning, we are growing into great human beings.
As we embark on this new school year together, I encourage you to stay connected, get involved, and reach out with any questions or ideas. Together, we will make this a wonderful year of learning and growth.
With Star Pride,
Mr. Vance d’Escoto
Principal
Don Stowell Elementary School
